This subject has been discussed a lot of times but I want to clarify it once again.

All Existing MultiCharts users get MultiCharts 5.0 Gold for FREE. There is no need to pay anything to upgrade. Just download the software here:
http://www.tssupport.com/support/downlo ... arts.shtml

MultiCharts 5.5 will be free of charge for all existing customers too. It will have the following features:
Walk Forward Optimization.
Keywords to Get Market Position from Broker.
Bar Magnifier. High-definition Backtesting.
Symbol List Import.
Improved Data Reload. Customizable Number of Days Back.
Hint Window Shows Orders.
Custom Session Templates in Format Symbol Window.
Data Window.
Symbol Dictionary. No Configuration of Symbol Settings.
Detached Windows of All Workspaces are Visible at the Same Time.
Customizable Toolbars.
Trading Technologies Data Feed and Broker Plug-in.
Patsystems Data Feed and Broker Plug-in.

If you purchase MultiCharts 5.0 now you are qualified for a free MultiCharts 5.5 upgrade as well.

MultiCharts 6.0 will be a chargeable, but not a mandatory upgrade. You should only upgrade if you want to. We will support all existing users even if they don’t wish to upgrade to MultiCharts 6. The list of MultiCharts 6 features will be published later.
Thank you!

These are 2 great features that i am looking forward to.
Will these:

So I guess the actual MC 6.0 upgrade fee will be set just as it is ready to come out (I realize that estimating software time frames is not that easy to do even for the rich like MS).

Custom tool bars is great but not enough for me to bite even if it is free. A good replay is very worth while for me personally.

Thanks for making things crystal clear Andrew. Good news for early adopters.

One question if I may. Will people that supported the development of MC by purchasing lifetime licenses in the early days have to pay for 6.0? To be honest I really don't use a fraction of the features as it is but that's not the point :) Guess there is no rush as 6.0 is likely a way off!

Congratulations on the launch btw. I have not upgraded for a while but look forward to trying it.

PatSystems and TT don't provide history since they are not in data business.
However you can purchase a reliable and inexpensive delayed service like IQ Feed and merge it with TT or PatSystems to have a complete chart. IQ feed will work as history and TT or Pats as real-time.
MultiCharts has a feature that allows one to merge two data feeds on the fly.

Yes we plan to release MultiCharts 6.0 at the end of this summer. The upgrade fee will be available then.

Nick,
I already explained that the upgrade will be chargeable for all except the most valuable customers who help other and contribute a lot to the product development. I already name several people and I hope I will add a few to this list right before MC 6.0 release.

1. Can we merge IB's feed with Patsystems or TT ?

Sure, of course. Any data feed could be merged.

Do they backfill?

They don't, but we are working hard on barchart.com (DDF) data feed which is very inexpensive solution and looks very promising.
